YTSubSearcher

Firefox extension

YTSubSearcher — your subscriptions, by date.

YTSubSearcher finds public videos from channels your YouTube account subscribes to. Choose a day, month or year to see matching videos, with the newest first.

Firefox 140+ on desktop Read-only access

This website is public and requires no sign-in. Google sign-in is used only inside the extension when you choose to search videos from your own subscriptions.

Three steps to the videos you need

  1. Sign in with Google

Open the extension and choose the account whose YouTube subscriptions you want to search. Sign-in and permission approval take place on Google’s own pages.

  2. Choose a date

Enter the day, month and year you need. To search an entire month, for example, enter the month and year and leave the day blank. Your local time zone is used.

  3. Start searching

Click “Search”. The extension checks your subscribed channels and displays matching videos. You can open each video on YouTube.

Works with large subscription lists, too

Your results are saved

Close the window with the × button and come back later. While Firefox is running, closing the window does not stop the search. Results are stored locally for up to 6 hours.

Faster repeat searches

Information about fully scanned channels is cached for 6 hours. Repeat searches use the current cache to show results sooner.

Filter by duration

Choose videos longer than three minutes, possible Shorts lasting up to three minutes, or both groups.

Controls in one window

Stop a search, clear the date and results, delete the cache or switch Google accounts. You can also open the search in a separate tab.

About “Possible Shorts”: this is an estimate based on duration, not a definitive format classification. Short regular videos may appear in this group as well.

Why Google access is needed

The extension uses YouTube Data API Services to retrieve the selected account’s subscriptions and public information about those channels’ videos: title, publication date, duration and thumbnail.

YouTube access is read-only. It is used to search your subscriptions. You enter your password on Google’s page; the extension never receives it and does not change your subscriptions or videos.

You can revoke access in your Google account’s connection settings.

The extension requests only openid (the selected account’s technical identifier) and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly (read access to subscriptions and video information). Data is used to run the search and display results in your browser.

Your data

OAuth tokens, a technical account identifier, cached data and results are stored locally in your Firefox profile. Search dates and filter settings are processed on your device.

Requests for authorization, subscriptions, video information and thumbnails are sent to Google and YouTube services. Data is not sent to a developer-operated server. The extension contains no advertising or analytics.

“Clear cache” deletes cached data and results. “Sign out” also deletes local tokens, the account identifier and settings. Details about storage, sharing and deletion are available in the YTSubSearcher privacy policy.

YTSubSearcher displays video information and opens selected videos on YouTube. The extension has no image or video generation features, and Google user data is not sent to artificial intelligence services.
